About this car

This 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30 carries a Park Ward "Airline Back" four-light body, one of only 12 built in this style according to the listing. It has a rare disappearing division that slides up horizontally into the roof. The car is documented in Bernard King's book on the 25/30 and Wraith, and in Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club bulletins from 2013 and 2014.

It has been in long-term single ownership, and the owner's records are extensive. Money spent on the car totals about £135,000, with works logged from 2010. The engine was fully overhauled between 2016 and 2017, including reboring and sleeving, a new camshaft and rebalancing. The bodywork received new ash framing around the windscreen, roof and boot at the same time. Other work includes a full rewire with a solid-state voltage regulator, a new radiator core, overhauled brakes, a new propshaft and reworked steering joints. The most recent entries are a service in December 2021 and a rear ash frame repair and new door locks in November 2022.

The car has been used on Continental tours, and the page quotes 19,467 miles since the engine overhaul. It comes with three ring binders of shop records, a photo album of the works, the owner's manual, a bespoke maintenance manual, a dickey box and three made-to-measure Turkish carpets. The page shows the £65,000 price marked "Accepted". The Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club valuation is quoted as £100,000.
