Rolls-Royce 20hp Park Ward Saloon

This 1927 Rolls-Royce 20hp carries six-light saloon coachwork by Park Ward, ordered new through Croall & Sons of Edinburgh for a Scottish landowner's household in Fife. It has stayed in Scotland ever since, and changed hands only in 1945 and again in 2010 before the dealer collected it from a small estate inland from Aberdeen.

It is presented as an unrestored survivor. The chestnut hide interior is described as original and in very good order for its age, with leather extending to the rear seats and the twin fold-out occasional seats, and all the woodwork is original and intact. The grey-over-black paint matches the rest of the car, and the dealer suggests keeping it as is for preservation classes. Artillery wheels, twin side-mounted spares and a rear luggage trunk complete the look.

Under the previous owner, about £6,000 was spent at Milford Vintage Engineering, covering a full service, brake and kingpin work and assorted smaller jobs. The car has been used on Highland roads in recent years. The fabric roof covering has just been replaced by a trimmer in a deliberately muted style. The page shows the price as accepted.
