About this car

This 1970 Porsche 914 started life as a four-cylinder car but has been converted to a 914-6 recreation, with a rebuilt period 1973 2.7-litre flat-six fitted in 2022 by Greatworth Classics. It drives through a five-speed dog-leg gearbox and runs 911 running gear, uprated brake discs, Bilstein suspension, triple Webers and a replica works exhaust.

The history is the draw. A left-hand-drive special order with Minilites and a limited-slip differential, it was acquired by Porsche-Audi USA for a client to compete in Porsche Club of America events. It won its class at the 1971 Hill Climb and took further rally and parade results in 1971 and 1972. It came to the UK in 1993, was partially restored and repainted silver, then spent 26 years with one Porsche Club member from 1994.

The bodywork was restored in 2011, and the current owner, author of 'Porsche The Racing 914s', bought it in 2020. It is offered with a detailed history from production and shows 156,548 miles. Extras include a Torino RS90 rally seat, a fire extinguisher system and Export 56 underseal.
