The 356SC was the most powerful of the final 356C-era cars, with a 1.6-litre flat-four rated at 104 bhp and, unlike earlier cars, disc brakes at all four corners. It was dropped in 1965 as the 911 took over, which makes it among the last of the original Porsches.
This left-hand drive 1964 car arrived in the UK from the USA in 2014 and had a full back-to-metal restoration by Road and Race, with genuine Porsche panels including new floor pans, sills, B pillars and inner front wings. It was refinished in its original Sky Blue, using a Glasurit mix to the 1964 formulation, and retrimmed in grey leatherette with grey carpets.
The original engine and gearbox are retained, so it is matching numbers. Both were rebuilt, with new Weber carburettors and a 12-volt conversion, and the suspension and brakes were refreshed. The history file includes a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and receipts that the dealer says total over £100,000. It carries the age-appropriate registration UIB 356. No mileage is stated.
