Porsche 356 B T5 Roadster

This is a 1961 Porsche 356 B T5 Roadster, the Drauz-built open car that sat below the Cabriolet with a removable windscreen frame, a Speedster-style dashboard and a lighter hood. Only about 2,600 were made between 1959 and 1961. This one is finished in its original Aetna Blue (6003) with red leatherette trim.

Chassis 88367 was completed in November 1960 and delivered new through Porsche Car Import in Northbrook, Illinois. The page says the engine (603642) and the original gearbox (39493) match the Kardex and Certificate of Authenticity, though the gearbox was later replaced with a rebuilt unit (43782). It also retains its original tool kit and jack. The car went to Costa Mesa, California, and came off the road in 1978. It was bought by the current owner in late 2022.

It has had a three-year concours restoration. The body was taken to bare steel with new floors and battery box, and the suspension, brakes, wiring and interior were redone. The engine was rebuilt with a hotter cam and dyno-tested at 75hp, against the 60 bhp factory rating. It has run about 60 miles since the rebuild and is in its pre-sale running-in. The odometer reads 32,181 miles. The price is on application.
