This is one of only six right-hand-drive 356 A Carrera GS models brought into the UK by official importer AFN in 1956. The Carrera's Type 547/1 four-cam engine is a complicated, bevel-gear-driven unit with twin distributors and two plugs per cylinder. This car is unusual in using Weber 40 carburettors.
The car was supplied new in April 1956 to Le Mans driver Edgar Wadsworth. Racing and rally driver Cyril Corbishley was the second owner. Later owners followed in 1963, 1978, 1986 (including a spell in Spain), 2002 and 2013. The car has factory stampings on the bonnet, doors and bumper irons, and the page describes it as numbers matching.
A three-year restoration began in late 2012. The car won its class at the 2018 Salon Privé Concours Masters at Blenheim Palace and took the Owner's Choice runner-up prize. It is finished in white (code 603) with a black leatherette interior, and the odometer reads 2,331 miles. The price is on application.
