Listed today at The Classic Motor Hub, Bibury. Last checked today.
The Super 90 sat at the top of the pushrod 356B range, below the four-cam Carrera models. Its 1.6-litre flat-four gave it a clear performance advantage over the standard cars without the complexity of the Carrera engine, which is why many regard it as the pick of the 356 line-up.
This coupe was completed on 29 July 1960 in Ruby Red (6002) with a leatherette and cord interior. It was supplied new through the Munich dealer Maheg and ordered with chrome wheels, twin fog lamps and an electric timer. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that it retains its original Super 90 engine (number 801082) and original gearbox (number 39135).
The history file includes California registration documents from 1972 to 1978, when the car was owned in Pasadena, plus a period Californian traffic citation. The dealer describes the car as being in superb condition and in original specification. Mileage is not stated.
