The 160 was the top Super Eight in Packard's 1941 range, and the convertible coupe is its scarcest body: about 250 were built from a 160 run of 3,525, most of which were sedans. The dealer says fewer than 25 remain registered for road use, and that this is the only known right-hand-drive example.
Power comes from the 5,834cc side-valve straight-eight, rated at 160 bhp at 3,500rpm, through a three-speed manual gearbox. The car spent its life in inland South Africa, which the page credits for a solid, corrosion-free structure, before being imported to the UK by its current owner. It is UK-registered as WXS 372.
It has had a full bodily and mechanical restoration, including an engine rebuild, and restoration photographs are available. It is finished in cream with a brown interior. Overton Vehicle Overhauls recently carried out about £7,000 of further work. Mileage is not stated.
