The Super Eight was Packard's range-topping model in the mid-1930s, sold on the line "Ask the man who owns one". This 1936 1404 Club Sedan is powered by a 6.3-litre straight-eight, a smooth and quiet engine, driving through a four-speed gearbox.
It came to the UK about a decade ago after a restoration, and has been used lightly but regularly since. The previous owner, then around 90, drove it little. The current owner has spent roughly £15,000 on it, including four new tyres, a new copper head gasket and other gaskets, and work on the king pins, brakes and carburettor. The interior woodwork has been removed and refinished.
It is finished in maroon with a grey cloth interior. The dealer says a file of bills documents the work. The page gives no mileage, and the listing carries an "Accepted" marker beside the price.
