This 1926 Packard Single Six began life with sedan coachwork on the shorter chassis and spent much of its life in the USA. After fire damage, it was rebodied as a Skiff-style tourer in the manner of Labourdette's mahogany boat-built designs. The conversion was completed in 2015 by a specialist wooden boat builder and restorer.
The new body is hand-formed West African mahogany over an oak subframe, fastened with copper boat nails and epoxy, with teak flooring, sycamore detailing and 15 coats of yacht varnish. It weighs roughly 150lb, nearly 1,000lb less than the original coachwork. The 241.5 cu in straight-six should make around 81 bhp in Fourth Series Turbo-Head form. The engine is matching-numbers and was rebuilt in America. The radiator height, steering column rake and pedals were altered, and the suspension was reworked by Midlands Motor Springs to suit the lighter body.
The car came to the UK in 2010. It won the Pride of Ownership Award at the 2015 NEC Classic Motor Show and appeared at the 2021 London Concours of Elegance. It has also been featured in The Automobile, Octane and Classic Car Weekly. The page says it has been used sparingly. It comes with build photographs, shipping and registration papers, and a copy of the New Jersey title. No price or mileage is given.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Layout only (front-engined straight-six, RWD, US-built); no verified Packard factory figures found for the 1926 426 Single Six skiff-bodied tourer (likely a coachbuilt body), so performance fields are null.).
