The Mk II Cooper S is the later of the original Mini's performance models, with a 1275cc A-series engine, twin SU carburettors and front disc brakes. It brought a wider rear window, revised switchgear, a two-piece grille and updated lighting. At 76 bhp in a car weighing under 700kg, it was quick for its size and successful in rallying.
This 1968 example is finished in Almond Green with a Snowberry White roof and a green and brocade interior. It shows 17,300 miles, which is low for a car of this age. Its engine is a tuned unit built by Downton and completed in 2019.
It was supplied new by Wadhams of Waterlooville in June 1968 and still carries its Dorset registration. The history file includes restoration invoices from 2016 to 2019 from Downton Motor Engineering, Moss and Somerford. The original Cooper S Mk II catalogue and a driver's handbook come with it. There have been four previous owners.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (BMC published engine data (76 bhp gross, 1275cc); weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because only road-test figures are known, not confirmed factory figures).
