The Mk1 Cooper S is the Mini at its most celebrated, and this 1966 Morris example was first registered on 15 March 1966. It was restored by its previous owner, a long-serving BMC mechanic, and keeps its original 1275cc engine and the original close-ratio four-synchromesh Cooper S gearbox.
The specification leans towards fast road use: a lightened flywheel, Maniflow three-branch manifold, RC40 silencer, twin fuel tanks, Adjusta-ride suspension with Koni dampers, and 7.5-inch front discs. It is finished in Tartan Red with a black roof, with black Group 2 arches, original BMC rear mud flaps and gold Minilite wheels said to have once been used on a racing S at Crystal Palace.
Inside are period high-back recliner front seats and rear seats in red and grey brocade, a Moto-Lita wood-rim wheel and a fresh air heater. It comes with a BMIHT Heritage Certificate confirming chassis and engine numbers. The odometer reads 92,000 miles, and the car has won various trophies.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (BMC published engine data (76 bhp gross at 5,800 rpm, 1,275 cc A-series). Performance and weight figures from this period come mainly from magazine road tests, not the factory, so they are left null.).
£37,995 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
