About this car
This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is a W113 "Pagoda" that was restored by the SLSHOP itself. It was found in a Somerset barn and is a matching-numbers car. It went through the dealer's Reborn programme and was finished in 2021, in Anthracite Grey Metallic with Scarlet Red interior.
The work was extensive. Every body panel was replaced and the interior was fully re-trimmed. The engine, transmission and suspension were comprehensively overhauled, and the suspension and engine were then carefully set up and tuned. Classic Mercedes magazine's editor reviewed it in 2021 and called it possibly the best SL Pagoda he had come across.
The odometer reads 26,144 miles, of which about 1,400 have been covered since the rebuild. It has an automatic gearbox and is ULEZ exempt. The dealer includes a 24-month warranty, an inspection report and enrolment in its CARE programme.
