This W113 280SL has a notable ownership story. It was bought new in 1969 and stayed with one family until 1987. It was later owned by touring car racer Jack Sears, who bought it in 1988 from TT-winning motorcyclist Stuart Graham. The Sears family kept it until 2019.
A full nut-and-bolt restoration was carried out in 2020–21 under The MB Shop in Oxfordshire, with parts support from SLSHOP. The dealer says the bill came to just over £100,000. It covered the bodywork, repaint, interior and hood. Original fixings were refinished and retained where possible, and the underside was repainted and underseaied. The engine is described as tuned and a modern stereo has been fitted.
It is finished in Silver Grey Metallic over black leather and shows 11,702 miles. The history file includes itemised restoration invoices, build sheets, German owner booklets and MoT records from 1988 to 2006. It is an automatic and comes with a 24-month SLSHOP warranty.
