The 190SL was the more affordable companion to the 300SL Gullwing, pairing similar styling with a 1.9-litre single-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine fed by twin Solex carburettors. This 1956 car is an early example, with the Gullwing-style bucket seats fitted only to 190SLs built before May 1956.
It was delivered new to New York in January 1956 and stayed in the USA until 2021, when it came to the UK. Hilton & Moss then carried out a full restoration in-house. The car was stripped to a bare shell, and the engine, gearbox, chassis and axle are described as matching numbers.
It is finished in its original DB180G Silver Grey Metallic with a 1079 Red leather interior. The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering have been rebuilt, and the engine was run in and tuned on a dyno before road testing. The car is now UK registered. Price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Mercedes-Benz Classic factory data for the 190 SL: 105 PS (converted to 104 bhp) and 171 km/h (converted to 106 mph). Only 0-100 km/h was published, so 0-60 is null, and kerb weight is null because quoted figures vary.).
