Chassis 1182 is a 1960 Lotus Elite in Competition Coupe form, with a直接 link to Team Lotus. It was given to Innes Ireland as part of his Formula One contract that year and handed over by Colin Chapman himself, with period photographs in the history file. Ireland used it as a road car for getting to races and press events.
Its racing career came after Ireland sold it. Tom Threfall, an RAF pilot, campaigned it across Europe between 1961 and 1963, taking podiums at Spa, Brussels, Snetterton, Silverstone, Castle Combe and Charterhall. It also ran in the 1962 and 1963 Goodwood Tourist Trophies. Over time it gained uprated suspension, a NACA bonnet duct and long-range fuel tanks.
The car has been restored from the ground up over two years by Hawker Racing and comes from a private UK collection, which bought it in 2021. It is described as eligible for Goodwood Revival, the Members' Meeting and other historic racing. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Lotus Type 14 Elite basic layout (Coventry Climax FWE 1216cc). "Competition Coupe" doesn't map to one confirmed factory spec, so performance figures are left null and not estimated.).
