The Aurelia B24 Spider America, styled and built by Pininfarina, was Lancia's open two-seater for the US market and used the Aurelia's pioneering production V6 with a rear-mounted transaxle and inboard rear brakes. Only 240 were built, and the dealer understands just 59 of those were right-hand drive.
This car was built in April 1955 and is understood to be the third right-hand-drive example made. It was supplied new to Grand Prix driver Cesare Perdisa, who raced for Maserati and Ferrari. It is finished in its original combination of Lancia Rosso over light hide, with matching-numbers engine and drivetrain. It spent its life in northern Italy before the current dealer bought it, and a previous keeper carried out a refurbishment covering mechanicals, bodywork and interior.
The history file includes the Lancia Classiche Certificato di Origine build sheet, plus ASI, ACI and Registro Aurelia Italiano documentation and a list of Italian owners from 1955 to 2015. The car ran in the 2015 Mille Miglia as entrant number 375, which makes it eligible for future historic events. The listed mileage is 15,500.
