This is one of the nine XKSS Continuation cars completed by Jaguar Classic, finishing the run that the 1957 Browns Lane fire cut short. Of the 25 D-types planned for conversion, nine were lost in the blaze and only 16 originals were built. The continuation cars were built to 1956 detail, with Jaguar Classic having scanned four original cars first.
This example is painted British Racing Green over black. Its first owner wanted a car that could be driven on the road, and it passed its IVA inspection on 3 April 2019 and received a UK V5. The same owner asked for a finish that would age and patinate, so it is the only continuation car painted in cellulose. It also appeared in Channel 4's 2017 series on the XKSS's rebirth.
The odometer reads 400 miles. In May 2023 it went to Brazell Engineering for a check-over, service and tune costing £7,300. The rear suspension and ride height were adjusted, the spark plugs replaced and both fuel pumps rebuilt. It is registered XK55JAG and has a manual gearbox and right-hand drive. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar Classic XKSS continuation press releases, 2016–2017 (262bhp 3.4-litre straight-six, 9 cars). I didn't find published weight or performance figures, so those fields are null.).
