This 1955 Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe is finished in red and has a documented history. The Jaguar Heritage production record certificate shows it was dispatched new on 15 July 1955 through Coombs & Son of Guildford to a London company that traded in aircraft.
Chassis 807196 had a full nut-and-bolt restoration in 2010–2011, with specialists handling the chassis, bodywork, engine and gearbox, paint, and hood and interior trim. A photographic record of the work comes with the car.
In 2017 it went to Twyford Moors for a service and check-over, at a cost of more than £15,000. The work included a new five-speed T5 gearbox. Other changes are an EZ power steering unit, front disc brakes, SU HS8 carburettors, an electric fuel pump and a wooden-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel. The page gives the odometer reading as 9,041 miles.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory rating for the standard 3.4-litre XK six: 190 bhp gross at 5,500 rpm (the SE/C-type head versions were rated 210 bhp). The factory's weight and performance figures aren't verified, so they are null; most published figures come from period road tests.).
