The XK120 was the car that made Jaguar's name in 1948, and the SE specification added a more powerful tune of the 3.4-litre straight-six, rated at 180bhp when this car was built in June 1954. This left-hand-drive example went to California when new and later passed through Arizona, Illinois and New Jersey, with a frame-off restoration carried out along the way.
It has since been tuned for events rather than originality. A later XK120 block is paired with a C-Type cylinder head, for an estimated 210bhp. Brooklands aero screens, a teardrop headrest, bonnet straps, Lucas spotlights and chromed wire wheels give it a period competition look. The colour was changed around 2012 from Light Grey over Suede Green to Indigo Blue over Oxblood Red leather.
Registered in the UK in May 2013, the car completed the 2013 and 2014 Mille Miglia Retrospective and comes with a FIVA Identity Card. It is currently being prepared for sale by the dealer.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory figures for the XK120 Special Equipment (180 bhp gross, 3442cc XK straight-six). Weight, top speed and 0-60 are omitted because they vary by body style or come only from period road tests.).
