This is a 1963 Series 1 E-type with the 3.8-litre engine, the earliest and most sought-after form of Jaguar's 1960s icon. It was first sold through Fattori & Montani in Rome before coming to the UK, where it was registered in 2005.
Chathams carried out a nut-and-bolt rebuild in 2011. The current owner made two changes at that point: larger rear arches in the style of the E-type rally cars, which allow wider rear wheels, and a red hood in place of the original black to match the interior. The car is finished in silver.
It shows 1,570 miles. The owner has used it on regular outings and otherwise kept it in secure storage. A photo album documenting each stage of the rebuild comes with it, along with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. The page lists an automatic gearbox, which is unusual for a Series 1 car of this age.
