About this car

This 1932 Frazer Nash Nürburg, chassis 2069, is the second of only three cars built with Corsica two-seater bodywork. The Nürburg took its name from Alfred Fane Peers Fane's special-bodied car, which ran in the 1932 German Grand Prix support race, and it was sold as a competition car with a modified 1,496cc Meadows 4ED engine and chain-drive transmission.

Registered JB 1285 in December 1932, it was first owned by Rupert Brooke of the Brooke Bond tea family. It may have been a works back-up entry at the 1933 Brooklands 500 Miles. The history file includes the continuation logbook and traces ownership through Yorkshire and Ohio before Dan Margulies brought it back to the UK in 1989. It was restored in the 1990s and again in the mid-2000s.

Since late 2021 it has been maintained by marque specialists Blakeney Motorsport. The Meadows-type engine has been rebuilt with a competition camshaft, new pistons and a bespoke water pump, and it recorded 103.6bhp at the wheels on the rolling road. The engine has been prepared to accept a supercharger again, though none is fitted. The car has competed in the Mille Miglia (1996) and the Flying Scotsman (2014), and at the Goodwood Members' Meeting in 2021 and 2025. It comes with an FIA Historic Vehicle Identity Form and an MSA Historic Technical Passport.
