Listed today at Vintage & Prestige, Northampton. Last checked today.
This is a recreation of the Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica, the rare postwar sports racer that took third overall at the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is built on a Jaguar XK140 chassis, with a hand-formed aluminium body in the style of the original.
Power comes from a rebuilt, race-specification Jaguar 3.4-litre straight-six with a C-Type cylinder head and twin SU carburettors, driving through a four-speed manual gearbox. It has front disc and rear drum brakes, a side-exit exhaust and chrome wire wheels, with a spare. The car is left-hand drive, finished in red over red, with a Moto-Lita wood-rim steering wheel and an engine-turned dash.
It was built for the Gene Ponder collection in the USA and is now in the UK. The dealer says it has covered only 56 shakedown miles since new. It has no UK registration at present, though the dealer says it can be registered in the UK or Europe.
