This 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is a right-hand-drive car, one of only 158 supplied new to the UK. It is finished in Gunmetal over black leather and was fitted with factory air conditioning from new, a useful option on a front-engined V12 grand tourer.
It was ordered in April 1971 and delivered through Maranello Concessionaires that December. The first owner, Mr G. Burton of London, part-exchanged a Ferrari 275 GTS against it. The history file holds invoices back to 1972 and a full record of ownership.
The car was rebuilt by Modena Engineering in the late 1970s, and the paperwork records the purchase of a new Daytona engine from the factory for that work. Bob Houghton Ferrari carried out a comprehensive restoration in 2008. It is Ferrari Classiche certified with the Classiche book, and FIVA registered. It has been shown at Salon Privé and completed the 2011 Mille Miglia Retrospective. The odometer reads 38,000 miles, and the price is on application.
