Caterham Seven 420R Race Car

The 420R is the top rung of Caterham's motorsport ladder: a stripped-out 2.0-litre Seven built for circuit work, with uprated suspension, a full Superlight roll cage and a sequential gearbox. This 2013 car is finished in Firecracker Yellow with black wings and graphics.

It has been raced in the CSCC Magnificent Sevens series, which runs 45-minute endurance races open to any specification of Seven. Modifications include a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox with a Geartronics flat-shift system and an extra fuel swirl pot in the boot to increase capacity. A new 185 bhp Duratec race engine was fitted in 2025 and is estimated to have covered about 300 miles.

Other equipment includes adjustable Bilstein race suspension, a limited-slip differential, quad-piston front calipers with a brake bias adapter, a six-point harness, a plumbed-in fire extinguisher and Toyo R888R tyres on 13-inch Superlight alloys. It has no road registration, so it is a track and race car.
