Bugatti Type 37

This Bugatti Type 37 is a specials-builder's car rather than a factory original. It was assembled in the 1970s by Simon Clopper for European road rallies and carries three of the five major original components. Its UK V5C describes it as a 1929 car built from parts, some or all of which were not new.

The car was once the personal transport of the owners of Brineton Engineering, the Bugatti specialists known for remanufacturing parts. It is finished in black with maroon leather, on cast bladed wheels with period-style Michelin tyres that have seen little use. There is a rack behind the rear seat for cans of lubricant.

The dealer reports that it had stood for two years but started on the handle on the third turn and ran up to temperature. The engine and mechanicals are described as in excellent condition. A supercharger unit with its gears is available separately for conversion to blown specification, and an MGF starter motor and ring gear are included for anyone wanting electric starting. It is currently in lady ownership and registered as SL9982.
