The Alpina version of the BMW Z8 is a softer, more grand-touring take on the E52 roadster, and only 555 were built. This one is number 116, completed in October 2002 and finished in Titanium Silver over a black interior.
Alpina swapped the standard car's M5-derived V8 for the 4.8-litre unit from the B10 V8 S, paired with a ZF Switchtronic automatic with paddle shift. The wheels grew from 18 to 20 inches, the suspension was revised for a more comfortable ride, and the cabin was retrimmed in Nappa leather with Alpina-specific wheel, gauges and gear display.
Supplied new to the USA, it was imported to the UK in 2015 and converted to UK specification by Sytner Nottingham. It was serviced at 15,393 miles in 2016 and appeared in BMW Car magazine that May. It was bought at Bonhams' Goodwood Revival sale in 2021 and has since seen little use in a private collection. It has roughly 18,000 miles, the original hardtop and still wears the factory plastic carpet protection.
