BMW M635 CSi Highline

The Highline was BMW's 1987 answer to the question of how plush an M635 CSi could get, with Nappa leather covering almost every interior surface, from the headlining and pillars to the dashboard and door cards. Only the last 102 of the 524 right-hand-drive E24 M635 CSis carried the Highline name, which makes this one a rare variant of a rare car. It has the 286 bhp M88 3.5-litre six, a manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

This example is finished in Zinnober Red over silver leather and sits on its original 17-inch Alpina wheels. Equipment includes electric memory sports seats, air conditioning, a sunroof, an on-board computer, headlight washers, a rear blind and a Becker Grand Prix radio. The page gives 21,000 miles in the headline figures and 20,000 in the specification list.

It has had three owners and a full service history. The last keeper bought it in 2002 from the Drambuie Glenvarigill Collection with 761 miles. Before handover the car goes through a workshop programme: an Inspection II service, replacement of the age-related rubber, bushes, hoses, seals and Bilstein dampers, and underside cleaning with cavity wax. It comes with the original manuals, tools, stamped service book and a file of documents.
