Bentley S1 Continental Fastback By H.J. Mulliner

The S1 Continental with H.J. Mulliner's fastback body is one of the defining British grand tourers of the 1950s. This example, chassis BC101AF, is described as the last car of the first series. It was originally registered in the UK as 676KDV and now carries British Columbia plates, and it is for sale in Vancouver.

Originally finished in Circassian blue, the car has since been repainted back to bare metal before the current ownership. The leather is original and patinated, and the front seats are protected by sheepskin covers. The carpets have been replaced, the interior wood is in excellent order, and the page reports no evidence of accident damage. It is presented as an honest, largely original car rather than a restored one, with the odometer showing roughly 175,000 miles from new.

Recent work includes a rebuilt transmission after a weeping input shaft seal, a rebuilt offside front suspension, and an engine refresh documented by receipts. The rear lever-arm shock absorbers have been changed to telescopic units and an alternator replaces the generator. The replaced parts go with the car, along with its tools, an owner's manual, a thick history file and period paperwork.
