Bentley R Type Graber Drophead Coupe

This R Type is one of only four drophead coupes that the Swiss house Graber built on the Bentley chassis. It is believed to be the only one of the four with a split windscreen, a carry-over from the Mk VI that was fitted from new. It is right-hand drive, finished in off white over tan leather, and has the original manual gearbox. The page describes it as matching numbers.

It was supplied in January 1954 through Garage de l'Athenee in Geneva to Alfredo Gorostiza. The build sheet specified bonnet and petrol filler locks, a speedometer in kilometres and export bumpers. It then went to Montevideo, where Gorostiza used it as ambassadorial transport. It stayed in South America until the early 1980s, when it went to a US collector. It joined a German collection in 1994 and moved to Switzerland in 2002, where it passed through two owners before returning to the UK in late 2025.

Since its return the dealer's workshop has reviewed and prepared the car, and the page describes its condition as very good throughout. It comes with a FIVA identity card, a history file, copies of the factory build sheets and research from the Graber archives. The listing shows it as sold.
