This 1954 Bentley R Type is an automatic Sports Saloon, finished in Ruby red over silver/grey with a red leather interior. Chassis B252WH was ordered by Sir Geoffrey Burton, who died before delivery. The order passed to Captain Robin Adshead, and later owners included Captain Sir Thomas Troubridge, who owned it from 1957 to 1963. It also appeared in the 1984 television production of Agatha Christie's 'Murder in the Library'.
Two sensible changes make it easier to use in modern traffic. Flashing indicators have been fitted and work with the original trafficator arms, and the front seats have inertia reel belts. The Avon tyres are radial in construction but cross-ply in size and appearance.
The car is described as running well, serviced and MoT tested. It is registered OXL 700. The page gives no mileage.
