This is a Derby-built Bentley 4¼ Litre with Park Ward saloon coachwork, chassis B183MX, and one of the last cars the Nightingale Road works finished before war stopped production. The dealer puts it as the 12th from last. It has the overdrive top gear and Marles steering box, and it was registered in 1940 on the leap-year extra day.
It was ordered new in 1939 by Miss Marga Schröder of the Schroder banking family and stayed with her until 1955. In 2000 it completed the London to Peking Rally. Lord Cope of Berkeley bought it in 2002 and covered more than 40,000 miles in it across the UK and Europe. The paint is a mid blue the dealer describes as not quite turquoise, over red leather. The front seat leather has been replaced, while the rear seats and door cards are original.
The car is described as largely original and patinated, with minor marks from use, and good but not concours. The history file is large and includes servicing and restoration invoices, much of it from Fiennes Engineering. The original buff log book and a Bentley Drivers Club workshop manual come with it. The page shows the price marked "Accepted".

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine layout and displacement from Bentley/Rolls-Royce Derby-era chassis specs. Bentley never published power figures, and weight and performance depended on the coachwork, so these are left null.).
£50,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
