Listed today at DD Classics, Kew. Last checked today.
This 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre is presented in Blower form, the supercharged configuration associated with Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin's team cars. It is a right-hand-drive open tourer with a manual gearbox and a 4,398 cc engine.
The specification is the part that matters. The car has the rare factory heavy-crank engine and the desirable 'D' Type gearbox. The supercharger is to correct Villiers specification, and a counterbalanced crankshaft was fitted in 1990. VBE Restorations has recently carried out extensive mechanical work, including new connecting rods.
The engine-turned dashboard carries Birkin Blower-type instruments. The car is finished in British Racing Green with period fabric and Connolly leather. It is recorded in Clare Hay's Bentley: The Vintage Years, and comes with a documented history file that the dealer says traces the car from new. The price is on application and no mileage is stated.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine layout and capacity are from Bentley Motors heritage material. I couldn't confirm 1929 factory figures for power, weight, top speed or 0-60, so those are null. About 50 road cars were built for Le Mans eligibility, but no build number was announced, so units is null.).
