This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 is the rarer two-seater BN7 and has been turned into a full BMC works-style rally car. It was built for the North American market with wire wheels, a laminated windscreen, overdrive and a mph speedometer. It came back to the UK in 1996 and was converted to right-hand drive.
The current owner bought it in August 2000 and commissioned a ground-up conversion. Denis Welch rebuilt the engine with an alloy head, triple Weber carburettors and rally cams. The panels were replaced in aluminium and the car was resprayed in Tartan Red with a white hardtop. The gearbox, drivetrain, brakes and suspension were rebuilt, and the car was fully rewired. It keeps its dynamo and non-electronic ignition, which suits strict classic-rally scrutineering.
Rally equipment includes a roll cage, sump guard, Halda Twinmaster and twin timers, bucket seats with five-point harnesses, an intercom and spotlights. It has competed in several European events and won its class in the 2001 Winter Challenge. It comes with a current V5 and a history file of invoices.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Only the base layout comes from BMC's BN7 Mk1 spec (2912cc C-series straight-six, front engine, RWD, Abingdon-built). A 'Works Replica' is a later recreation of a works rally car with no factory figures, so performance and weight are left null.).
£74,950 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
