Austin-Healey 100M BN2

The 100M was the factory's performance version of the 100/4, with a high-compression head, hotter camshaft, larger S.U. carburettors and a cold-air box lifting output from about 90 to around 110 bhp. Only 640 were built between 1955 and 1956, and this one is a genuine factory car, confirmed by its BMIHT certificate. It is a late BN2 with the four-speed gearbox and overdrive, chassis BN2-L/232852, built in May 1956.

It was made to North American export specification in left-hand drive, finished in Reno Red and Black with a red leather interior. It was exported to the US in 1962 and found as a non-runner in 2016. JME Healeys then restored it in 2017, at a stated cost of £114,106.73 over roughly 1,012 hours. It is described as matching-numbers.

DK Engineering supplied the car to its current owner in 2019, and it has since been part of a UK collection. The history file holds restoration invoices, about 350 photographs and a FIVA Identity Card. Spares and extras include a spare cylinder head, racing harnesses, a car cover, tonneau, hood and side screens. The factory 100M specification makes it eligible for the Mille Miglia.
