Chassis 002 was Aston Martin Racing's lead works Vantage GTE, running as the #97 car in the GTE-Pro class of the World Endurance Championship from 2013 to 2015. It is generally regarded as the most successful Vantage GTE built, with five race wins across three WEC seasons. Its drivers were Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke, with Bruno Senna and later Jonny Adam sharing duties.
The car won first time out at Silverstone in 2013 and added wins at Fuji and Shanghai that year, finishing second in the GTE-Pro championship. It took further wins at Austin and São Paulo in 2014. Twice it wore a Le Mans art livery: the 2013 day-to-night design chosen in a Gulf competition, and the 2015 Tobias Rehberger design, which it carries today.
After its final works season in 2015 the car was stored at Prodrive until the current owner bought it in 2024. It uses the GTE specification: full carbon bodywork, an X-trac six-speed sequential gearbox and around 500 bhp. It is now eligible for Le Mans Classic and the Peter Auto WEC Legends support races. The price is on application, and no mileage or registration is given.
