The DB5 arrived at Earls Court in 1964's run-up, shown in October 1963, and became the definitive Aston Martin after its Goldfinger role. Just 1,021 were built across a short two-year production run, and this one, chassis DB5/1806/R, is a 1965 right-hand-drive saloon in Caribbean Blue Pearl with Sample Grey leather.
Its current owner, an Aston enthusiast, bought it in 2014 and had it fully restored by marque specialist Aston Engineering of Derby. The engine was stripped and rebuilt to 4.7 litres, reportedly making 324 bhp, while keeping its original block and head. The body was taken back and repainted to bare metal, with the rear axle, suspension and gearbox overhauled, a new fuel tank, a full rewire, chrome work and a retrimmed interior.
Upgrades for usability include air conditioning, central locking and alarm, power steering and 6-inch Torino wheels. It comes with a current V5, a full photographic record of the restoration and numerous invoices. Price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin period factory figures (282 bhp gross, 3,995cc triple-SU straight-six); weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the widely quoted figures come from period road tests, not confirmed factory data.).
