This 1964 DB5, chassis DB5/1618/R, was delivered new in December that year with the five-speed ZF manual gearbox, the pairing many enthusiasts prefer. It retains its matching-numbers engine, and the history file includes the warranty card, first-owner details and factory build records. Its original colour was Aegean Blue.
The car has a real competition record. Modified for racing in the late 1980s by Goldsmith & Young, it finished sixth at the 1989 GP Historique de Bourgogne at Dijon. In 1990 it took an outright win at Oulton Park, second at Silverstone and the Chapman Warren Championship, and it was still racing in the 2000s.
Richards of England then carried out a three-year, body-off restoration, completed in 2024. The car is now Silver Birch over grey leather, has been maintained by Trinity Engineering, and has covered about 500 miles since the work was finished. Only 1,059 DB5 saloons were built, which makes a documented, correctly specified example like this one a rare find.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin period factory specification (282 bhp gross, 3,995 cc straight-six); performance and weight figures usually quoted come from period road tests rather than the factory, so they are left null.).
