The DB4 Series 2 was built for little more than a year from early 1960, and only 349 were made. It brought a larger grille and better cooling to answer the overheating that troubled early cars, along with frameless door glass and a bolt-on front subframe. This one was supplied new in May 1960 through Cyril Williams Motors in Wolverhampton and still carries its original registration, 7777 DA.
The history is unusually well documented. The factory build sheet lists Ming Blue with an off-white interior and a Motorola radio. The gearbox was replaced under warranty in July 1960, and Aston Martin maintained the car until 1964, when it showed 56,675 miles. A replacement engine went in during 1966, and an Aston Martin letter from 1973 confirms it is an original DB4 unit. The last keeper owned the car from 1986 for almost thirty years. A large history file includes bills from 1986 onwards and MoT certificates going back to 1975.
The car has since had a full body-off restoration, photographed throughout. Oselli rebuilt the engine and BPA Engineering overhauled the gearbox and axle. It is now in Aston Martin Racing Green with a light tan leather interior. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin's period claimed output (240 bhp gross) for the 3,670cc Tadek Marek twin-cam six; weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the widely quoted figures come from period road tests, not confirmed factory data.).
