DB4/107/R is a works development car, first registered by David Brown Industries in October 1958 as "4 SMU". Restoration revealed redundant brackets and mounting points left on the chassis, and fully framed door windows, which production cars did not get until the Series 2 of 1960. It also served as a company car for David Brown and appeared in the 1960 film Too Hot to Handle.
Chief engineer Des O'Dell used it as a support car for the DB4 GT racing programme, including Monza, Le Mans, Clermont-Ferrand and Montlhery, and it features in his cine film and photographs. It was fitted with prototype engine 370/PP/105, described as the oldest surviving prototype engine, and several development engines. That original unit has since been refitted.
Aston Martin Works sold it in 1961, and it passed through several owners before a Newcastle family bought it in 1967 and kept it for nearly 40 years. Aston Workshop then restored it fully, enlarging the engine to 4.2 litres, and showed it at Pebble Beach in 2007. It has covered 14,083 miles since restoration and is finished in Wedgewood Blue over off-white, with right-hand drive and a manual gearbox.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Layout and engine details are from DB4 history (Marek 3,670 cc straight-six). I couldn't confirm factory performance figures for the prototype itself, so those are null.).
£499,950 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
