This 1956 DB2/4 Mark II is one of only around 15 drophead coupés built on that chassis, with Tickford coachwork, and one of nine in right-hand drive. The first owner, W R Bullough, specified Deep Carriage Green paint over black trim. He also asked for twin spotlights, a clutch pedal built up by two inches, semaphore trafficators and a Smiths Jackall hydraulic jacking system.
The car was maintained by Aston Martin's works service department for its first nine years. Its total mileage is put at about 84,000, though the odometer reads 57,000. The third owner kept it for 39 years from 1975 and stored it for 29 of them. It was last taxed in 1985 and re-emerged in 2014, when it passed an MoT after brake and tyre work. It still has its original tools.
It is currently being rebuilt to original specification. ASR is working on the body and chassis, Rex Woodgate on the engine, gearbox, axle, suspension and brakes, and Spraytec on the paint and final assembly. It is now finished in British Racing Green. Price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin factory engine rating for the standard 2.9-litre VB6J six (140 bhp); weight, top speed and acceleration left null because only period road-test figures exist.).
