The DB2/4 MKIII was the last of the line before the DB4, and the car that carried Aston Martin into the 1960s. It used the Tadek Marek-reworked 2.9-litre Lagonda straight-six with twin SU carburettors and a twin exhaust, good for 178 bhp, and brought front disc brakes and a hydraulic clutch. Tickford built the bodies at Newport Pagnel, and only 551 MKIIIs were made.
This right-hand-drive example was supplied new in April 1959 through H.W. Motors in Essex. It is matching numbers and has had a full nut-and-bolt restoration using period-correct parts, finished in its original Penoy Red over off-white Connolly leather. It shows 15,500 miles and has had two previous owners.
An inspection by Klaus and Laura Kukuk, specialists in classic car appraisal, awarded it 1.83 on their 1 to 5 scale, where only four cars have ever scored a 1. The car is registered in both the UK and Germany with all taxes paid, and is VAT qualifying. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin period specification for the standard 2.9-litre straight-six (162 bhp gross); weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because a confirmed factory-published figure isn't certain.).
