The DB2/4 was Aston Martin's first hatchback-style grand tourer, adding rear seats and a opening tailgate to the DB2 formula. This 1955 car, chassis LML865, comes with an unusual recent history: bought in 2016 as a barn find after more than 40 years under a tarpaulin in a heated workshop.
It was then dismantled and given a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. Most of the original parts were kept and overhauled, with only those beyond repair replaced by original or remanufactured items from marque specialist Aston Service Dorset. The car was repainted in its original Moonbeam Grey and retrimmed in leather to original specification.
The page describes it as a matching-numbers car, with its original engine rebuilt to zero-time specification and the transmission and brakes overhauled. Period-correct tools and a jack are included. The odometer shows 21,020 miles, believed correct, and the car has been kept sparingly used in a controlled-environment private collection since the work was completed. The listing shows the price marked as accepted, so it appears to be under offer.
