This 1938 Aston Martin 15/98 short chassis was supplied new to Mr J C Brookes and has a traceable chain of owners through to the present day. Its most notable chapter began in 1997, when it was bought by David Taylor, a recognised specialist in the pre-war two-litre Astons. He rebuilt it between 1997 and 2000 and fitted a new body.
After the restoration the car stayed with the Taylor family and was used on a range of tours. It is now offered for the first time since that work, which gives it unusual provenance for a car of this type.
The history file includes several 1950s invoices from Friary Motors, a copy of the original buff logbook, and records and photographs of the rebuild. The interior has kept a patina, and the dealer reports a recent service after a period of storage.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Pre-war factory rating: 98 bhp is the claimed output the model is named after (1,949 cc SOHC four). No reliable published factory weight, top speed or acceleration figures, so those are left null.).
£195,000 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
