This 1964 AC Cobra 289 Mk II is one of just 48 right-hand-drive, aluminium-bodied cars built at AC's Thames Ditton works. That makes it one of the rarest ways to have a Cobra, and a pure British-built example of the Anglo-American formula: a light AC chassis with Ford's 4.7-litre V8 and a close-ratio four-speed manual gearbox, making around 300 bhp.
Chassis COB/6034 was first registered on 7 December 1964 and has had only three keepers. The second owner kept it for 45 years, until the current custodian bought it in 2011. The recorded mileage is 11,900. It was restored in the 1980s by Hall & Fowler, and the file includes the original green log book, a factory sales pamphlet and restoration photographs.
The car has a strong show record, including an outright People's Choice win at the Earls Court Motor Show at Goodwood Revival, third overall in the concours at the London Classic Car Show, and appearances at Salon Privé and the City of London Concours. It comes with full weather equipment.
