This 1955 Triumph TR2 is a right-hand-drive, matching-numbers car that has been returned to factory specification. It was first registered in Cornwall as VAF 344. An initial rebuild began in the South West more than thirty years ago but was never finished. The current restorer later bought the car and completed it, with a full nut-and-bolt restoration in 2014.
It is finished in Signal Red with a Matador Red interior and matching wool carpets. The seats have been re-trimmed in half leather. It keeps its positive-earth electrics and has a heater and overdrive on second, third and fourth. The page says it has covered under 2,000 miles since the rebuild.
The engine has been stripped, with new piston rings, main bearings, oil pump and timing chain. The work also included a new hood, windscreen, fuel and water pumps, wiring loom and instruments, with the chrome either new or re-chromed. A photographic record and an invoice file document the work. The car has won club events and has recently been stored as part of a collection.
