Listed today at SPR Cars & Classics, Gloucestershire.
The Sunbeam Tiger was the Anglo-American take on the Alpine roadster, with a Ford V8 squeezed under the bonnet. This 1965 Mk 1 has been converted from road car to competitive historic racer, and now carries a David Henning Motorsport-prepared 302 cubic-inch (5.0-litre) V8 with a list of further upgrades, plus a four-speed manual gearbox.
It returned to the UK from South Africa in 1989 and went on to a successful club racing career. The page lists class and championship results in the Sunbeam Intermarque series between 2005 and 2010, including championship wins in 2007 and 2009.
More recently it has seen fewer events but has been maintained, with the safety equipment and mechanicals serviced. The most recent owner commissioned around £20,000 of work in 2023 to prepare it for classic racing, and it has done one demo day at Castle Combe since. The original numbers-matching 260 ci engine and ancillaries, two sets of Minilite wheels and tyres and the seats are available separately. Mileage is shown as 85,000 and the car is right-hand drive.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Not a factory variant: the Mk I Tiger had Ford's 260 V8 (Mk II: 289), and the 302 came out in 1968 after production ended, so there are no manufacturer figures for a '302'.).
