This 1963 Sunbeam Rapier Series IIIA convertible is a Rootes Group four-seater from the era when the company still built stylish, affordable open cars. The IIIA brought the revised engine with larger main bearings, along with other mechanical updates over earlier Rapiers.
The car is finished in pearl grey with a red side stripe and red hood. Inside, the red trim is piped in grey and the dashboard is full walnut. The page quotes about 50,000 miles from new. Overdrive acts on third and fourth gears. The hood can be fully raised, set in the sedanca position or stowed under a cover, and a red split tonneau cover is included.
The dealer describes the car as solid and free of rot, and says it has spent many years in collections. It comes with old and new V5C documents, recent paperwork and workshop manuals. Viewing is by appointment in Dorset.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Rootes Group period specification: 1592cc twin-carb 4-cyl, 80.25 bhp gross. Weight, top speed and 0-60 left blank because the commonly quoted figures come from period road tests, not the manufacturer.).
