Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II LWB James Young Non-Division

Most Silver Cloud IIs left the factory with the standard steel saloon body. This one is a coachbuilt long-wheelbase car by James Young, design SC12, a six-light saloon with rear quarter windows. Only five were made, two of them on left-hand-drive chassis, and this is one of three right-hand-drive cars. It was built as an owner-driver car without a division, and the hand-formed body is aluminium.

The paint is royal garnet over black, with mid blue/grey leather inside and burr walnut veneers. Picnic tables are recessed into the backs of the front seats, alongside built-in vanity mirrors. The car has covered 136,000 miles from new and has been garage kept throughout, and the dealer describes the underside and engine bay as very tidy.

It has recently arrived from Norway, where it carries a Norwegian registration, and will be UK registered. It comes from an estate sale and has not been used for several years. The finish shows light patination rather than showroom gloss, a new boot carpet is being made, and the dealer recommends recommissioning by the buyer. The listing shows the price as accepted.
