This 1936 Rolls-Royce 20/25 carries a one-off all-weather tourer body by Offord, the south London coachbuilder better known for work on Alvis and Bentley chassis and responsible for very few Rolls-Royces. The hood is spring loaded and can be raised or lowered by one person, and the car has wind-up windows front and rear plus an Auster screen for rear passengers.
The history is well documented. One owner kept it for 48 years, and it later spent about 30 years under a single Henley-based caretaker. A bills file and MOTs back to 1960 are said to exist. The engine was rebuilt by marque specialists Ristes roughly 5,000 miles ago, with photographs and paperwork, and a new cylinder head has been fitted more recently. A new block was fitted in the late 1940s by Rolls-Royce after a casting defect was found in the original.
It is finished in indigo blue over black, repainted about 12 years ago, with largely original maroon leather; only the front seat has been retrimmed. Extras include a rear motoring trunk, twin trumpet horns, a centre-mounted spot lamp and twin side mounts. The car is registered in both the UK and Austria.
